Can't remember offhand how long ago I read the first in the series, but it took me a good 40 pages to remember what happened. After that point, when this book started to make real sense, I started to enjoy it much more. I like that it was easy to read and relatively fast. I thought the "Block and Shelley" storyline was entertaining, too. It all read like a Scooby-Doo screenplay at times, but once I got over that I found myself enjoying the plot. I've decided to go against my normal routine and opted to read the last installment in the series, The Pagan Stone, right away. Should be interesting...

I read this back in high school and wasn't sure what to expect rereading it. I was struck my the simplicity of the language and how well it works with the philosophies presented.

This is the second installment in the IAD series. I don't recommend you read the series out of order, but each title can be read as a standalone. Of course you'll enjoy them much more if you follow the order! Her Valkyries are strong an independent woman, usually with a temper. And often stubborn. Be ready for an alpha hero and lots of hot scenes!! There's a HEA and the romance doesn't end with a cliffhanger, but some facts of the story are left open. It's a must read for romance readers, even if you're not a big fan of paranormals. Kresley Cole is, in my opinion, one of the most skilled and talented authors nowadays.

Even 6 years after first reading it in England, am still using Bridget-isms. V. good!

Fabulous book, beautifully and sensitively written. I really enjoyed it and felt I had walked a while in Kitty's shoes and could sympathise with her situations. She has sever mental health issues, but is loved by her OCD husband. Her dysfunctional family is full of secrets which, although slightly unbelievable at times, keeps you riveted.
