A bittersweet tale....of two women closely bound by the mistress-servant relationship, and the impact on both of their lives. The sadness and hopelessness of the poor classes in India always surprises me at the resilience of the characters, but I still am surprised that individuals can rise each and every day to face more of the same despair. Beautifully written and lyrical.
More girly British hilariousity. I could keep going with these but I don't know if my library has the third one, plus I wanted to save some for later. Super enjoyable.
