I really did not like this book. Some of the stories were ok but then when i found out they were not real it annoyed me. It just didn't appeal to me!
It was a tiny bit predictable in the end, but It was still a Great Book!!
this is a wonderful book to always have around. good for YA and adults. The author is also the photographer.
Never knew that the border states played a part in the Civil War. You evidently had to choose sides. And no matter what you did you had the big chance that someone would show up at your house demanding food and your horses and then shoot you in the head. So these regular boys formed these rag-tag haphazardly formed platoons with self-appointed leaders and their own code of honor. They starved and bled and expected death. They chose a fighting side without knowing why sometimes and they slipped further and further down into the dark side of civilization.
Great read!
i love this book, but mainly i loved the exhibition. i saw the exhibition at the MET last year and it was probably my favorite one out of a few i've seen in the costume section of the museum.
