I am about 10 pages into it and am immensely drawn in. This is written to be read by an adult. As I know nothing about libraries at Oxford, I looked up the ones she reference to see if they exist. They do. I'm a little less than half way through now. I have gone back and re-read everything to make sure I get it all. I have also looked up Oxford University to figure out the colleges. You may realize from all of this, that I am trying NOT to rush through this book, but rather to savor it and spend time unwrapping it. I have this feeling this will be one of those books you wish you could read for the first time again. Ok. finally done. I had to finish the wonderful Succubus series in between, so I re-read the whole book before I finally finished it. (As I said above, a great new book is a rare find, and I want to savor it.) Yes, this is an adult book, in mindset and complexity however, not in x-rating. For that alone, this is a rare find. I sat next to my computer as I read so I could look up every phrase and reference. I did not want to miss anything. You won't want to either. They are calling this "Twilight for adults". As a recovering Twilightaholic, I'm not sure the romance is quite up to that level, but this is a seriously interesting book with wonderful, deep and nuanced characters and a plot you have to actually put some thought into. Almost got me to want to start another website.... Gets my rating for best new series! Can't wait for next summer's "Shadow of Night."

This collection of correspondence between Rilke and yes, a young poet, is an inspiring source for anyone who has doubts about their creative abilities. Rilke encourages the artist to write inspite his doubts and isolation. Even if you're arent an artist, I think that this book is valuable.
