Smith'in iki kadın liderine küçümsendiğini hissettim. ne kadar sofistike olmadıklarına bakmamız gerekiyordu. Bakın, bu beyaz bir adam tarafından yazıldı. sevimli değil, icky hissettim.

I became interested in reading this book after reading Escape, a woman's account of escaping the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saint cult with her children. This book not only examines the FLDS cult, specifically the Lafferty brother murders, but also the history of the Mormon church. 2 things have stuck with me. 1. There are stories you accept growing up in any religion without question or thinking them ridiculous or impossible, and yet you read passages from another religion's book of truths and you can't imagine anyone would believe this "stuff". It makes you think about the origins of the world's older religions and how they were perceived at their infancies and how they are perceived now. 2. The allegations of rampant physical and sexual abuse within the FLDS community discussed in both books and I wish that was enough to keep authorities from sending those kids back from the Texas compound last year.
