I have really enjoyed these early books by Kirk Mitchell. I find the character, Dee Lagurre, to be very enjoyable and "real." I find myself thinking about the characters and stories long after having read the books.
I'm sorry to admit that I saw the movie before I got a chance to discover the book. I adore the movie and have seen it countless times, each time leaving with the desire to make chocolates, but have only recently picked up the book. I found the beginning a little confusing. It took me a few chapters to achieve a good sense of who's voice belongs to which character (Vianne and the Cure), and a little while to wrap my brain around the French names. Once I idled passed that, I enjoyed the book quite a bit. There were several differences from the movie - as there generally is. Some good, some not as pleasant. If you've seen the movie, but haven't yet read the book, know the ending is slightly different. Personally, I prefer the movie's ending to the book's, but both are quite enjoyable.
i enjoyed the story although it was not the best piece of literature. i started to get tired of it 1/2 way through the book- too much repetition.
