Well..... I guess this book was okay, quite confusing in parts. I liked the idea of the mark, I just get the fact that someone was standing in a hall way pointing at a girl and talking rubbish. The only reason why I didn't give it one star because I liked Erik, (hehehe) but I hate Zoey, FOR GOD SAKE WOMAN STOP DROOLING OVER EVERY SINGLE GUY WHO WALKS BY! OKay, so first is Heath; the guy who gets drunk all the time Second is Erik; the perfect guy who is all round perfect Then bloody Loren; the stupid vampire teacher who likes to touch pretty girls. Can't Zoey make up her mind on ONE guy, not hard is it? 'OOoooOOO, I love Erik he's gorgeous.' then 'Loren touched my tatoo, he's so gorgeous.' then she goes to make out in a car with her ex??? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FRICKIN MAKE UP UR MIND! YOU CAN'T HAVE ALL THE DIAMONDS ON THE SHELF! Ergh, I don't even know WHY i'm going to read the second one, really I don't know. I think I've gone mad.

I wrote a longer review for this book, but somehow it got deleted, so here it is, short and sweet. I loved Entwined so much. It was a beautiful, absolutely perfect fairy tale. Even though it was based on an existing fairy tale, it was written well enough and intriguing enough to earn its place on the shelf with the classics. The bottom line is if you in any way like fairy tales, this one will win your heart!

I can see why this book won the Pulitzer. Agee does an amazing job describing landscape, emotions, trains of thought. You could tell he was familiar with the landscape of Knoxville in the early 20th century; his depiction reminded me of the warmth and comfort of a good Southern drawl. He made the landscape seem like home. I also have to give Agee credit for spending 300 pages on the death of one man! The way the author describes how a man's death impacts a variety of people was impressive. He seemed to get inside the hearts and minds of men, women, adults, and children and each person's response seemed genuine. What struck me most, however, about this book was how the dead man's wife found inner strength to keep going. For me, she is a role model for how to continue life after such loss.
