Is it fiction or non-fiction? Greg Mortenson's story is an amazing tale of a man who made a promise and kept it. However, Relin's account of Mortenson's life-long passion is horribly done. I think he owed it to this man and his family to do a much better job. I'm still in awe of Greg, but I wish someone more competent had told his story.
One of my all time favorite reads.
A true story illustrating the tradegy of life during the Katrina hurricane in New Orleans. A family profiled because of their Muslin beliefs and dress. Zeitoun and his wife run a construction and painting buiness, are extremely good to customers and friends. Yet the husband is thrown in prison during the tumultuous days following the storm. An excellant read.
I picked this book up about 3 yrs ago and couldn't get into it. Someone in page turners posted a message that recommended sticking with it so I decided to give it another go. First, I have to say Thank you to whoever wrote that post. This one the best book I'd read in a long time. In short, it is about a rich, elderly woman who takes in boarders and what happens and where her life and theirs go as a result. This books is definiely quirky. I thought at first that was all it was but this book leads to a place this reader, at least, did not expect.
