First of all I have to thank Good Reads and Shannon M. Paddock for being able to get this book from the giveaways in Good Reads; anyways, I really like this book because it is sad but it ends with a good lesson. It talks about how hopeful one should and look for God no matter our situation especially when things in our lives do not go as planned. I really like the book overall but I really think this book would be great if the author would have gone more in detail about the foster kids and what exactly they told her, or how much she suffered from getting raped and how much she constantly felt that life was worthless. I think this is really a book that every single person should read even if they do not believe in God because they might be enlightened by it. Because I believe most people who reject Him because they are in great pain an see that their situation is not changing miraculously. I love the Bible quotes in the beginning of the chapters and the poem included towards the end of the book. I like the fact that it had in the beginning the number to the National Abuse Hotline (1-800-422-4453). I think that young kids should really read this book because I’m seventeen and I come from an abusive family as well and I know I have felt the way Shannon did so many times form the wanting to die because there could not be anything positively worse that can happen to me, to the hating males, as well as not being able to effectively communicate with others and guarding myself from anyone entering my heart which I am now doing. I have trusted God with my life and I’m always falling back on sin but what else can I do but keep on trying like she did and hope God blesses me as well. Thank you so much Shannon for your book; the hour or two that it took me to read it was so worth my time and I wish I could give a copy of this book to all the people in my life.

Funny, warm, and absolutely wonderful. I loved this book from beginning to end and would highly recommend it.
She left us hanging at the end. There better be another one.
