This was definitely not the best of Sarah Dessen.Story was okay but I just couldn't connect with the characters like I did in some other Dessen novels I read.It seemed to me that Dessen was trying to do something different from her other books but it just didn't work.Atleast not for me. The thing which irked me the most was the character of Jason.I had an inkling since the beginning, that this Jason might turn out to be none other than our old friend Jason Talbot, since the very start when he was introduced as a "blond, thin guy" who also happens to be a genius.Later it is revealed he went to Brain Camp with Dave(J.T went there in The Truth about Forever). He also tells Mclean that he used to work in the library and there was,I guess, also some mention of Jason Talbot going to Harvard in Along for the Ride. But why would an ambitious guy like Jason Talbot give it all up to become a prep cook? That just doesn't make any sense.I kept hoping there would be some explanation for that or at least something to show that this Jason was not Jason Talbot. But there was absolutely nothing in the end about Jason. It was all Mclean and that pretty much ruined the ending for me.Because seriously by the end I was just flipping through pages to find some clue to solve the mystery that was Jason,as Mclean's story bored me out of my mind around the middle of the book and I had to stuggle to keep going on.
um ok ive never actually read this, but my dad wrote it so i know its good. :)
