Loved this, poignant but gritty.
Magnífico retrato de mujeres, en torno a Mrs. Dalloway de Virginia Woolf. Muy tierna, bien llevada... aunque hay un alegato al suicidio como solución que no me termina de convencer.
Good but very brief. There are many books like this and this one is not notably better or worse.

This is my pick out of Jared Diamonds books and I rate his other two major books on this theme very highly. Surely, there cannot be a better explanation of what happened to humanity over the past 13,000 years + why and how. It's an extremely good answer to Yali's question which I'll state as "Why didn't my tribe (in New Guniea) come to conquer the Earths civilazations finshing with the discovery of those 'primitive' people in London?". To those in the west, this might seem a silly question, but it's actually a very reasonable and important one. There is an enourmous variety of reasons why history played out the way it did: Guns, Germs & Steel being among them. The message I took from this book is that it provides great evidence that no one group of people is really superior or deserving than another. This is truly a world of have's and have nots. I know a lot of people who have given up on this book, they can't manage Diamond's writing style. So give it a go but don't persist if it isn't working for you. The subject matter is written simply but still requires a lot of reflection to peice it all together by the reader.
