This book was wicked good! I was really surprised because i didn't think i would at the beginning but it gets way better
I couldn't take it anymore. 30-something, maybe 40-something pages in, I just gave up. I think it was after the body part-by-body part descriptions of the women, or the details of every. Single. Turn. while he was following Geiger. A couple of things wrong here. First, the too-dense descriptive passages and depictions of women remind me of everything I don't like about Butcher's Dresden Files series; and second, I have seen too many parodies of Chandler's style (most recently Colin and Ryan on Whose Line is it Anyway?) to take it seriously. Too clever, too "hard-boiled" for me.
