I truly enjoyed this story. LK can really make her characters alive. While you're reading, they are. Then I always have separation anxiety. This story is about Lily. She is considered a wild child among the ton. She has cut her hair short and will do anything. She doesn't mean to make a scene. That's just her. And, she's a gambler, of course. She is enlisted by her sister's ex-love to stop her sister from marrying Lord Alex Raiford. Her sister is very meek and mild and will do anything her parents want her to. But Lily steps in and humorously arranges for her sister and her true love to elope. Naturally that brings Lily to Alex's attention. He has no choice really. During the course of events, he falls in love with her. They are both grieving over tragedies several years in the past, so this attraction takes them both by surprise. It's a very funny and touching story. I liked every minute of it. But I always do with LK books.
