Nick Hornby is such a great author, this made me snort with laughter a few times. Nice, sharp, witty writing, definitely worth a read.
-good read, with interesting characters -the writing style was at times annoying and a little too much, wayy too many metaphors and descriptions of Adam's eyes and her blushes, seriously it seemed Juliette spent more time blushing than she did trying to find a solution to her problems -the cross outs were so unnecessarry and frustrating -the concept that at first seemed so intriging just turned out to be X-Men style (and though I loved X-Men, the similarities were too much, the author didn't even try to be unique in that part of the book) -the main girl was annoying, and never really broke out of her shell, or show any sort of strength besides that she endured her misery silently and never stood up for herself -her reactions and interactions with Warner were just strange -Warner, while psychpathic, was an interesting and complex character (slight spoilers ahead) -the chemistry b/w Warner and Juliette was unnecessarry and seemed forced, and seemed so wrong since Juliette was constantly proclaiming her love for Adam -the love story developed far too quickly and although I loved Adam as a character, his and Juliette's lovey-doveyness didn't impress me but rather put me off, it was disappointing -Juliette's character was inconsistent and at times her thoughts seemed so wrong, like seriously, you are in the middle of running for your life and you want to stop and KISS for a little while? the book had great potential and could have been so much more, sadly it didn't reach the four or five star level I was hoping for. However it was an interesting book that I enjoyed reading and finished very quickly. I will most likely read the next book.
