I read this and Anthem back to back and while I didn't care for Ayn Rand's book I really loved Zamyatins book.
My first Eugenides novel. A family saga of Stephanides. I was captured with his storytelling & narration. The way he shifts from Cal to Calliope. It seems incredulous how the mutated cell narrates his family history & the society in its history. But Eugenides' a genius, it worked out well. I loved that part of the narration. There are some dull chapters but a handful of interesting chapters override it. I love its climax. At first, I thought its all about hermaphrodites, but no, its just a chunk of the protagonist's abnormality.
