This book was absolutely amazing. It gives you a sense of what is was actually like to be fighting a war.
Overall: loved it I was a little bummed out by the ending. The book take this very odd turn (really can't say what it is as it would spoil it), but after that, I just wasn't as in love with it as I was in the beginning...I cared a bit less about some of the characters and a great deal more for others. However--great read. Worth your time and money, I think.
First sentence: "He found the body on the forty-third day of his walk." After being amazingly annoyed at Elizabeth George for murdering one of my favortie characters in this series.. and then she made it worse by spending her next book detailing the life of the young rascal who was responsible. This book is back 'on track.' Things will never be the same without Helen. But Tommy sounds like he will heal.
