Yet again Terry uses humor to hew close to the bone on such dire and serious topics as war, politics, assassination, and ingrained racism. It's a rollicking ride from start to finish, and doesn't feel half as long as it actually is. Very solid, with some great character moments from Vimes, Vetinari, Colon and Nobby.
