My rating reflects how I liked the subject as well as the writing. The book was well written, no question. The man's life was dark. I read it on purpose because I have worked with persons with schizophrenia, and I wanted to know what it was like. So I knew it would be dark. But it was still dark. Nobel prize, schizophrenia, remission and recovery. Also learned a lot about the research field, how that worked, and the era during which it took place. The book has good balance, considering the subject.
