Bunun Hosseini'nin ilk romanı olduğuna inanamıyorum. Okumak tamamen acımasız, neredeyse ilk sayfadan gerçekten trajik. Ama çok güzel yazılmış. My beloved late Grandmother was an Irish Catholic immigrant. The book reminded me of her and the stories she used to tell me as a young girl. What's not to love?
Not as good as The Alienist, but enjoyable. Kind of gross.
I loved this book until the last three chapters or so. I don't understand why the author felt the need to create a second conflict (a set-up for the next book in the "series.") I thought the book was haunting, extremely well written, and had believable characters in a most unimaginable (but somehow still plausible setting). I understand the compulsion to made this book into a series but if I was her editor I would have disswayed Collins from the notion. I loved this book and for its sake and the authors I hope the set-up for the second book in the series (and the second book itself) doesn't blow up in her face. 8.5/10
