The recipes in this book actually turn out when I make them. I haven't always had the best of luck with baking, but these recipes are great. The carrot ginger cake has been the biggest hit yet! This is a book I can pick up and read, almost like a novel.

i absolutely loved these books. this is the 1st in a trilogy of America from 1955-1968, mostly focussed on the civil rights movement using Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as the centerpiece. Filled with an amazing amount of detail, you will learn the dramatic, heartbreaking, triumphant story of an important part of U.S. history. Not the history they teach in high school, but facts like the Hoover's racist overtones which led to constant hidden surveillance and undermining of Dr. King and the movement in general. There is really so much in here that at times its almost overwhelming, almost.... It reads very fast and not at all dry, the pages crackle almost like a page-turning thriller not at all what you would expect from a book with so much factual information. Required reading.
