This was a fun read
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris—until she meets Étienne St. Claire: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home. I loved this book! It was wonderful. Anna is a bright and intelligent main character, with just the right amount of angst-y behaviour thrown in. The storyline was well paced and interesting; it definitely felt like I'd spent a serious amount of time in Paris by the epilogue. Also St Claire as the mysterious love interest, who couldn't commit, definitely kept me on my toes throughout the book (and sighing a lot). The secondary characters were all well fleshed out and the book certainly felt long and full, which is just what I wanted! There was a depth and honesty to this story that is sometimes missing from teen lit novels. Of course Ms Perkins couldn't resist using a 'British' accent, which as a Brit I can tell you wasn't very authentic. This was the only part of the book which annoyed me truth be told - stick to what you know! Anyway, this is a great romantic comedy / drama, and I'm already looking forward to reading Mr Perkins next book - it will be on pre-order!
