One of the two most favorite books of Phyllis Whitney the other being The Moonflower. I read this book when in high school and have a copy still and when I want a quick read to take me back I re read this one.
4.5... so fun!
This book is very educational. It interests me with its vast wisdom of working dogs and their main priority as man's best friend.
I've discovered that short stories are not my favorite. That being said I really liked a few of these, and most of them were at the very least well written if not enjoyable. It's a strange quandary to compare pit zombie stories and unicorn stories against each other, in my opinion and some of them seemed to mix the two. Either way I got through all of them, and I liked some better than others.
I wanted to like the book, but it felt like reading a badly-pirated version of the last chapters of The Gospel of Luke.
