I got this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. I've never played any of the Dead Space games, but you don't need to, to read this book. It was fairly well written, suspenseful and read a little like a video game in some places. The monsters were gruesome and horrible and very creepy. It was a good story. Those who played the games might like it a lot more, but even those that haven't will find it entertaining.
