meh. its a story about an alcoholic postal worker. conveyed in a shallow, vile way. it could have been done much more intelligently. bukowski seemed unwilling (or unable) to reveal any insight into his character´s self-destructive, loathful behaviour... and his female characters seem devoid of any real depth, aside from their moments of lustiness and hysteria... meh.
