This is not an attack on Mother Teresa, nor is is particularly mean. It is merely a thoroughly honest look at the life and acts of a human being. It is not Christopher Hitchens' opinion. Everything about this is supported by fact. And, as as the facts show, "Mother" is a very bad human being. This book represents yet another demonstration of a simple fact that alludes far too many people. We must all be vigilant. There are countless claims that are obviously false, dangerously so in many cases, that we must be willing to critically examine everything to find out which are valid. There is so much good in the world, and I'm grateful to Hitchens for showing me that this particular individual is not counted among them, that my admiration may be focused on those who better deserve it.
I think I was just too young when I read this book, even though I understood it, I just found it incredibly laborious at the time.
