I love the way L.M. Montgomery writes. I've read almost all of the Anne books, and of course Anne got more boring as she got older, but don't we all? This was the first, the best, and I fell in love with Marilla and Matthew and Diana and, of course, Anne.

Like most people who loved THE SECRET HISTORY, I was thrilled when Tartt came out with this second title ten years later. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. It's a very dark and depressing TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. I suggest rereading Harper Lee's book to picking up this one.
