I could not put the book down!
I liked this more than I thought I would. Be warned - the language is bad sometimes.
Very interesting account of a merchant marine captain being held captive by Somali pirates. The writing style is straight forward and Captain Phillips presents his account of the events surrounding his capture in the same way he ran his ship; no nonsense and to the point. On the flip side, he writes with a lot of care and concern regarding what his family was going through during the ordeal. Coincidentally, on this morning's news ticker there was a blurb that the same ship Captain Phillips was abducted from (the Maersk Alabama) was again approached by pirates. Despite it being in the news quite a bit lately after an American couple was murdered by pirates I was surprised to learn the extent of the piracy problem.
