Very quick read. A bit of a whodunit with a deeper message. "If you knew your words could be heard and read by everyone, would you still say them".

Very poetic and imaginative. It's the kind of book you find yourself backing up in to make sure you got what was on the last page. Don't go into it expecting a novel with an A to B storyline. It's VERY unique and I've never read anything like it. It's basically about two teenagers (Hailey and Sam) who are in love, but whose timeline spans a 200-year period. They have always been there and they always will. The book begins at the front and at the back, so every 8 pages, you are supposed to turn the book upside down and read 8 pages from the other side, causing you to constantly spin the book in an endless cycle of revolutions. Hence, Only Revolutions. There are a lot of things going on here, so, like I said, don't expect a typical novel, but it's a beautiful, sad, dazzling, magical, timeless love story that - if you are paying attention and not getting tripped up by the strange language - will break your heart and make you fall in love with Hailey and Sam.

I chose to highlight this book because it is one of the most memorable reads of my life. I've read most of Hesse and, as I have an M.A. in literature and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, I read a lot. This one has stayed with me.

"The Masters Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master's House," is one of the best defenses of community and revolution I have ever read.
