I wish the author had spent more time describing what it was like to be raised by an addict, rather than the author's journey as an adult to accept/understand his father.
This book has a lot of interesting elements; it can teach students to divide 100 into different way,used as a read aloud because it is short, integrate language arts and mathematics and has repetition of words. I like the ending because it also had an element of surprise, the ants were too late.
