I haven't read a horror book in so long, I forgot how good they could be. This book was fantastic. Freaked me out so many times. Some people took this book as a rant against gov't, but I just had fun reading a book about zombies and how the world responded. . . seemed pretty natural to me.
I'm reading this for work, and it really is quite good. It's amazing how many of our widespread ideas about dyslexia and learning disorders are totally, and hurtfully, wrong.
A beautifully written story of love, cruelty and the human condition. The narrator is such a melancholy adult, whose love and life has become the lesson that changed everything he's known. Hanna, (a character that won Kate Winslet her Oscar), is neither likable nor someone you can hate. She hides a secret that will follow her, and the innocent lives of others, to the grave. I read this in college-a little beat up version on the fourth floor of our library and fell in love-it is truly a beautiful book.
