I still love this book. I first read it when I was in my 20s and wondered how I'd read it differently now. I don't know that I did read it any differently -- but I still love its rich language, and its mystery, and how it is all just a story about extremely ordinary people, what one character calls "one childish husband and one childish wife."
These things sound so simple that you'd think they aren't worth bothering to do, but they've done my health some good.
So glad i decided to reread this - it was too long ago and i was too young and stupid when i read it. Now that i'm a little bit older and stupid, i think i appreciate it more. Brilliant, heartbreaking, but at the same time somehow uplifting.
