I thought this was a good story - something fresh and fun. But I didn't think it was long enough to really delve into the things she brought up - Lucky's "higher power", the relationships she has with her guardian and the one friend she seems to have in the town, the fact that Mile's mother is in jail...it was almost like the author said "Ok, here we go!" and that's as far as she got before ending the book. But it did have a few tender moments. I don't know that it was Newberry worthy, but it was good.
made me laugh.......prom night...........some much can happen. quirky book full of pictures......just a nice book to make you smile and bring back memories.
