I liked it a lot. Great plot. Harsh at times.
absolutely loved it. it mirrored many of my experiences, though in a grander scale, so i just ate it all up. i also loved her writing and her sense of humor. i hope to read the sequel at some point.
Every year in 9th grade we read Romeo and Juliet. Now with my kids I use the No Fear Shakespeare edition by Barnes and Noble because then the kids can see what a nasty old man Shakespeare really was. Plus I enjoy hearing the kids say what a skank Juliet is because she's only 13 and she's getting married to someone she doesn't even know. Yes, I have managed for the most part to make my students see that this is not really the greatest love story ever told but the rash actions of two teens in lust. Subversive? Maybe.
