This is a great book to use for hyperbolas, similes, metaphors, and personification. This can also be used to discuss different types of families.
Of mice of men by John Steinbeck was a novel about the adventures of two friends using both of their portion of sense to make it into the next day. Many years ago this book was banned to my perspective I don’t think this book was chronically graphical so it have shouldn’t been banned. I disliked this book in various ways even though it had good images and vivid vocabulary it was hard for me to really get into the book and really follow through. In my perspective I wouldn’t recommend this book to the equivalent of my personality. A noticeable motif in this book was violence and to symbolize it was the infamous gun. I’m not a fan of violence but the various scene featured by this particular gun caught my eye it was the only thing that made me change my perspectives about this book. As to characters George and Lennie wasn’t the lighter to my cigarette. My personality and their humor together wouldn’t last for five minutes. The setting in this book has described to be California on a farm like environment im not a girl of nature so in many ways I couldn’t picture myself in this book. Would I read this book again? No, I wouldn’t read this book again because I barely understood it the first ride around it was entertaining 3% of the time whenever Lennie made me laugh or when Curly’s wife was killed. Even though it was warfare to get this book completed I shared by good times as well as my bad dealing with this novel. My favorite character would be Curly’s wife because it was a mystery unsolved she was always titled as Curly’s wife as if she didn’t have her own personality or identity, she was described as to be a very attractive and young woman with limited knowledge. The lack of her not being singled out as a person but me at frigid thought maybe Steinbeck was representing as something and not someone or maybe the fellow char actors saw her as Curly’s property. My least favorite character would be Curly because even though he was a young and handsome boxer he let his flaws overcome his intuitions and they way he protected over his wife was over board, Curly’s wife wasn’t seen as her self or in her own shoes she was viewed to be clinked on to Curly and never to walk alone four footprints in the sand and it cost friendship Curly disliked Lennie out of a misunderstanding with his wife that’s one less friend on his list. I must honor Lennie though because of his tragic accident as a child and his simple doings he still had an opinion and a voice to be heard and in the end he is a strong man that has a fetish for rabbits and soft material. Of mice and men as a whole was a good book but not recommended to my equivalent personality.
