Just reread this after first reading it about 10 years ago. Absolutely wonderful novel about a sad-sack guy whose slutty wife dies, so he takes his daughters and aunt back to the ancestral home in Newfoundland and gets work on a local paper, the Gammy Bird. Funny and brilliantly written evocations of the fishing life in Newfoundland and working on a local paper. Well-deserved Pulitzer.
