Andrey Kurkov was suggested to me by a friend who knew my mild obsessions with penguins and curiosity about Ukraine. Co-figures the first book I chose to read was Death and the Penguin. I was in love from about page 3. This follow up allows the reader to really get to know the main characters, while Kurkov maintains the fresh style of prose from before and obviously catered to penguin infatuation. It was not at all disappointing in the way sequels often are and I would heartily recommend it to everyone.
I like my smut, but this was sex just for the sake of sex. I'd rather have some character development and a plot to go along with my smut.
