Last weekend in Portland, I visited my favorite store on the planet, Powell's. If you haven't been to Portland and/or don't know what Powell's is... you should come and I will oh-so gladly show you the front door and then proceed to get distracted and lost, leaving you alone to find your way in this massive book store. Anyway, I accidentally bought 4 or so books (for $20!) and this is the one that I hadn't really thought of previously, but was most excited to read. Ohhh how I loved this book. At times it's a cute and funny story about this unusual family of 4 wives and 28 children, but at other times it deals with some pretty serious themes likes death and adultery and how to be happy. I loved the different perspectives and the poor, confused father. Anyway, I definitely recommend giving it a read!

Creepy, while funny there is something almost more disturbing to his work as even opposed to horror writers such as Barker or King. I think personally it is just that these books were the ones showing you that while mother said you were safe, there are things to fear. Haha. Great book.

"This was the first thing Mark had been asked to do which he himself, before he did it, clearly knew to be criminal. But the moment of his consent almost escaped his notice; certainly, there as no struggle, no sense of turning a corner. There may have been a time in the world's history when such moments fully revealed their gravity, with witches prophesying on a blasted heath or visible Rubicons to be crossed. But, for him, it all slipped past in a chatter of laughter, of that intimate laughter between fellow professionals, which of all earthly powers is strongest to make men do very bad things before they are yet, individually, very bad men." EDIT: The book this review was meant for was That Hideous Strength, not Perelandra, though Perelandra's good too. I like the third one in the triology (Hideous Strength) the best, though.

Another good book in the redwall series. This did, however, follow a very similar plot structure to redwall so I did not enjoy it as much.
