I especially liked all the kissing talk. The beige phrase -- but I can't remember it now. What else? The poem that mentions Belva Davis. (thank you -- you fill my sad soul cracks that call out for nostalgia) the garage sale poem. the kicker lines of many poems. and all of the kissing talk. (so nice i mention twice) (more later - hopefully) when I have the book in front of me.

Four stars because I know this book will speak to my boys. NOT a read-aloud. Must be a reader, a reader that appreciates cartoon/box stories, can "read" illustrated emotion and occurrences, and enjoys historical fiction. Kind of a small niche, eh? I happen to have one boy in particular that will love this book, but I am thinking without that sweet boy of mine, this book would be a three star.

Currently making my way through the series! Great for adult and children of all ages.
