I love your writing, Anthony Bourdain, but this is not your best, but that's okay, because what's changed is that you've grown, you have a family, and you've still managed to maintain your passion for producing epic diatribes against people who suck and amazing love letters to the food and people you admire (these are truly beautiful). Although you had a rocky start, detailing your distasteful downward spiral into dissolution and bitching about the industry, you quickly bounced back to redemption by imbuing the depressing end of your marriage with some crazy stories that are so insane they just have to be absolutely true. And then when you do what you do best - write about food - it's done with the magnificent virtuoso I've come to expect from you. Well done, sir. Well done.

An amazing book that mixes all kind of magic creatures in a brilliant way. What I liked the most was that the book completely surprised me. When I thought about faeries, I was just thinking about a lot of glitter and colorful things, and man I was SO wrong. If you think you know what the book will look like just by reading the synopses at the back of it, you will surely surprise yourself just like I did. This fairy world is different, is dangerous, is dark; and the faeries? They're mean, selfish and totally different from everything you thought you knew. The plot is well built, the characters are amazingly charming and you get to know some other sides of faeries I'm pretty sure you've already heard about. I never thought I could see a fairy world the way Kagawa did, neither the faeries themselves. If you think a fairy book can only be plain, glittery and colorful, think twice. After this book I'm totally into fairy tales again.
