This was recommended by my favourite English teacher - Mr Holden. It had me hooked on Science Fiction after I read it. I loved the richness of the story line. The houses seemed so real, the worlds were believable. The story is a classic tale reworked. My second favourite Science Fiction book of all time.
Ugh. There is nothing in this book that I can point to as being bad. I would even say I enjoyed it. But it just took forever to read and didn't seem to go anywhere. I've read several other books since I started this one and I can say I am glad I finished it. I'm afraid I have nothing to recommend it by either though. The writing was fine. I guess I just don't like books with short chapters. It shouldn't make a difference but for some reason, in this case, it did.
