Long-winded explanations of technical details on planes. It's pretty interesting the first couple of times, but the repetition really gets to you. Later, the plot takes a total sidetrip into new journalism, almost abandoning the main plot. Once you factor in the hanging subplots and the easily solved 'mystery' it's a pretty disappointing book. 3 stars for a quick read and all the relatively interesting tidbits I learned about aviation and photojournalism. Good for a random author, a letdown from Crichton.
A lot of fun and a fast read. The author reads the entire Old Testament and recaps it for the audience. He includes his own reflections on each story. He points out where the stories don't make sense (more to do with logic and other stories in the Bible vs. any scholarly objection), and interesting tidbits about their influence.
