I simply adore this book. It’s chock-full of wonderful characters and brimming with treasured little titbits of wisdom. It offers romance and family drama with so much sincerety, humor and affection. It's those family dynamics that I can totally understand and appreciate. I have to say this; there’s not one character in this book that is flat or superficial. I think you need to read Very Valentine and Brava Valentine as one book and the picture is complete. For me this book is a treat and I can’t get enough of the Roncalli family; they are flawed, annoying, warm and forgiving. I immensely enjoy how the reader gets to see Greenwich Village, New York through the eyes of the author. It’s very appealing and I want to return to NYC right this minute. In this second Valentine book; one person stood out: good ol’ June. What a gem of a woman. It was rewarding to read that Valentine got to grow and didn’t miss her chance for happiness with Gianluca. Adriana Trigiani is a talented author. Her writing totally warms the heart, well my heart in any case. I hope she’ll go on writing many more of these little jewels. ps: For the UK readers: Brava Valentine is published under the title of Encore Valentine.
The story gets better and I was left cheering Tally along in her fight for what she knows is right.
