Either you like this book or you don't. Too weird, too random.
I should probably re-read this since it's been so long ago & my perspective is completely different from that of a 7th grader (when I read this)

Kind of like an England version of Phantom of the Opera. You feel sympathetic for the guy (Heathcliff), since he had an awful and abusive childhood, but now he is a monster, and he is obsessed with a girl and can't survive unless she marries him. So, does she marry the creep, or the nice man next door who treats her well? It's a really perplexing love story, and you end the book even more grateful for your normal husband.
