Ama Musa Tanrı'ya, “Ben kimim?” Dedi.
I read this book and the two others in the series over the course of a very long weekend when I hosted a garage sale, and I mostly enjoyed it because the women were sassy, the story was fun, and it didn't make me think too hard. I don't like it when people say that they're above certain types of writing. It's fine if you prefer certain genres, but I don't think any genre should be dismissed out of hand. Admittedly, there are a lot of romance novels that are just over-the-top, plotless, and poorly written. But I think Nora Roberts manages to give her characters enough...you know, character. You have feelings about the characters and I think that's the sign of any good writer - if they can make you give a damn. So I liked these books, and I continue to read Nora Roberts novels (of which there are many) when they come across my path.
Picked up from the library.
I was honestly surprised by how this book sucked me in. I finished it in three days and really wanted to start on the next one. Yes, it's Teen Harlequin Romance and I'm not a teen anymore but I still really enjoyed the story and the characters and the ideas in this novel.
Six short stories written between 1951 and 1968, with a larger variety of protagonists than is usual for Bellow. All were enjoyable to read and a couple of them presented some poignant moments. This collection came to my list when all of Bellow's books were added to my reading list following my enjoyment of his The Dangling Man.
one of my favorites. the imagery was amazing- you could actually feel the summer heat in the packed court room. this is an exquisite masterpiece we should all share and cherish.
Brightly Woven was a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed reading this book. It reminded me of when I was younger reading books like Dragon's Milk and Dealing with Dragons. Not that this is a book about dragons, its just the old world feel of it. It's like being transported back to a time when magic was still possible. Plus the cover is gorgeous! Brightly Woven has mystery, adventure, romance, and magic all "woven" into one great story. Although the end wrapped up quite nicely I would definitely read a sequel if one were to come out! I hope you check out Brightly Woven and let me know what you think! readingisbreathing.blogspot.com
I think that this was my favorite of all the Koontz books I've read so far and was definitely the most scary. But, it has a really interesting biblical allusion to it and found it really interesting.
My Dad ruined the ending for me with a classic spoiler. If you've read it you probably know how. I still secretly hate him for this...
