I actually bought this because of the gorgeous book cover. It appeals to be mysterious in my eyes. And also the passage "What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?" really intrigues me and caught my attention. I actually like the prologue of the story. It was sweet, sexy, romantic, beautiful and dangerous! I can say that one of my favorite part was actually the prologue. It gives you a hint or somehow reveal the past of each character. The story progresses in a very, very slow pace. I actually find the first 3/4 of the book, almost flat and no progress at all.Probably the author was trying to let the reader visualize each and each and character as well as the setting. Most of the pages was describing a certain place and/or character very well, trying to set the scene and characters to develop. A lot of scenes can actually be removed, still making sense. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not great either. It's so-so. I actually love the love triangle of the story. I love how each of the two men have their own character that differs from one another. I love how Cam tries to get Luce fall in love with him, while Daniel was trying to avoid Luce. As I got to know Daniel, I began to like him more and more and could completely understand why Luce is so captivated, and almost hypnotised, by him. Chapter 14 (probably) of 20 , where at last David Grigori punch Cam when he saw Cam peck a kiss on Luce lips, is where the story started to excite me. The following chapters was also on its peak. The chapters where Daniel and Luce are together was sweet, romantic, sexy. I'm actually seeking for more of their sweet and intimate scenes. I'm actually smirking and blushing while reading how romantic and sweet Daniel was. Honestly, I'm not shock, even a little bit, when Daniel revealed he and the others were Fallen Angel. Somewhere in my subconscious mind already knew that they were Angels and Luce got reincarnated many times. The story ended where a lot of things is still left unanswered. A lot of things are about to happen on the following books of the Fallen series that will keep u reading and ask for more. This is the kind of book where not a lot happens, yet everything happens. It takes a while to get going, but it’s definitely worth the wait. This is one of those character-intensive kinds of reads that focuses a lot on relationships and friendships, but there is a bit of action too. It’s right at the end, though, so make sure you stick it out.

كتاب لم أجد فيه أي جديد، وكان مضيعة للوقت، ولكنه قد يصلح لطلبة الإعدادية وربما الثانوية، كي يرسم لهم الخطوط العريضة في حياتهم

Upon listening to an interview with the author, Amor Towles last summer on CBC Radio, I immediately added this book on my must read list. It seemed to have everything I love in a book. Period piece, female protagonist, a book based on the fluff in life and it's outcome. Instead of giving this book a 4, I would rate it a 3.5. Kind of middle of the road. I had high, high hopes and the first half of this book was joyful, but the final half fell a bit flat for me.
