This book is very raw. There are things in it that feel first-novel-like to me - some of the discussion of race is a bit literal/repetitive - but ultimately it's very effective and compelling. She creates this distance between her characters and what they're talking about that's fascinating. I have no idea how to describe it better than that and I don't know how she does it, but it definitely sucked me in.
This is a great book outlining for the layperson the complicated principles of physics that govern our universe. It is fun to read a chapter and then sit back and listen to your noodle bake.
It was better than Twilight.
