A must read! One of saddest and shocking stories I've ever read. The contrast between the light, almost funny and naive style of writing - told from the point of view of a child - and the heartbreaking facts of her life is amazing.
Powerful and compeling. After reading this book, I had to read all of Ansay's books. I did. Sometimes this book was hard to get through because of the graphic scenes and situations, but run don't walk to your public library or book store to read this timeless classic.
