This book really opened my eyes to the situation in inner city areas. I liked that the book was academic and approachable, even for someone not trained in the social sciences. Good read.

Why I started this book: I requested a copy from Netgalley and then realized that it was a reprint. So I sat down to enjoy a fun reread. Why I finished it: Kennedy has created a unique setting. Where the rules of Polite Society and magic meet.
It started off a little bit slow but really picked up in the second half. I couldn't put it down. I'm a little late on this band-wagon but I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to finishing off this series in one go.
