Wonderfully descriptive. It's like a movie playing in your head, without overdoing it (she doesn't stall out on scenes). While I'm sure it would be even better if you really knew Little Women, Louisa May Alcott's life history, or Civil War history, it's still great if you have minimal knowledge (like me). In the back of the paperback edition, there is a brief interview with the author about what is based on Mr. Alcott's life, and what is fiction. GREAT BOOK!

HAIL MY SYMPATH/VAMPIRE KING!!! With that stylin' mohawk, smoldering amethyst eyes, bad boy smile and sex that oozes off of him...Everything about this book was UTTER LOVE for me!!! From the moment I "met" Rhevenge I was all about him! I wanted to know him more, I was drawn to him and I just knew there had to be something "behind" him!! BOY, was I BLOWN away with everything that was revealed about him in "Lover Avenged". Not only did I fall more in love with Rhev, but he became my absolute favorite. I know he's not a "brother" by blood, but he's a "brother" by word of mouth, so to me, that's still fine. His painful experiences had me heart broken but I TOTALLY LOVED when he got rid of that Sympath Princess and took over what was rightfully his. And YAY for Ehlena!! Now that's one kick ass woman/shellan who knows what she wants!! I'm so damn happy she went after him....And can we please touch on Wrath's heartbreaking story line in this book too?? Man, did I feel for him. But as a true leader & king, he worked thorugh it!! Xhex & JM..all I can say is...I CANNOT WAIT for Lover Mine! John's gonna finally be kick ass and I can't wait for him to go after what's "HIS"! WOO HOO! This book was PERFECTION!!

I by no means subscribe to Ayn Rand's Ayn Randian worldview, but this book doesn't reek of it as much as "Atlas Shrugged" does. Even so, I still really like this book. Enough to read it multiple times which is rare for me.
