This is my second Murakami book and although I can sense his talent, there still seems to be something missing. I imagine that what is missing is something that lost in translation. In English, the language seems too colloquial for the subject matter. Obviously, I don't know how this reads in Japanese, but I suspect if I could read it in Japanese I would appreciate it more.
